Definitely an awesome version. Especially the vocal at the end. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing. I still lean towards the Rainbow cut though but then I'm a Blackmore fan from way back.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOyFE-1LAI0 This was the best performance of 'man on the silver mountain' i heard and it was by Dio's band not Rainbow. 1983, live.. Viviene Cambell on guitar, one of the best 80's speed guitarists IMO along with Randy Rhoads. Ronnies solo vocal bit towards the end is brutal, for such a small man his voice was immense.

'Towering Legend' / 'Mighty Midget' alright! rock & roll.. teenage boys loved Dio, i know i used to be one.. all that dungeons and dragons stuff hit a chord with teenagers in the 1980's.. and i really don't know why. But Ronnie had such a powerful voice and was an excellent frontman.
