Beginning as both a classically trained pianist and flautist, Kat Downs eventually added the guitar to her repertoire. Singing was something she honed without formal training; it is a natural gift. Influenced by an eclectic mix- Billy Joel to Dire Straits, Ben Folds Five to the Pet Shop Boys, Weezer to Leonard Cohen- Kat left Wisconsin for California in 2001 and spent the next year creating the songs that would become Head of Revelations . Between the creative times she performed throughout the Bay Area with her band Good Natured Mortals covering alternative and classic rock, and recently joined Sparrows Point - a theatrical heavy metal group. Kat continues to write, produce and perform.
