Check out Wayne's "Summer of '42 video: it is absolutely beautiful. That guy needs to get back into the studio and lock in his great talent. Guys out there with projects: give Wayne a call; keep that boy busy playing/recording! we're so lucky to have him with us at A Choired Taste.

Alex and I never recorded anything but that one song. I recorded four CD\'s with Chris Ho, (some jazz, some smooth jazz, fusion, funk, and a bunch of stuff in between). Alex has never recorded as far as I know - too bad! Minder, If you would like to get in contact, do so through Paul Laginess, and thanks for the nice words, WW

I\'d like to write a proper article on Alex and Wayne here at ArtistLaunch. If anyone can give me information/websites/music links etc please get in touch with administration via the communication link on the main menu... It would be good to try and collect some resources and possible available recordings and maybe get people talking about putting together a release etc... Thanks.

Alex Taylor is incredible. Are there any albums that I could buy of hers? She is simply the best scat singer I have ever heard.

Hi Wayne Wayne, I have the tape signed by you 12-86. It seems to be quite a bit different. Please make your music available.

Nick, The cassette was taken from the video, I don\'t think it\'s been available for a long time. I should try to put it out myself.

Hi Wayne Wayne
Ok, now this makes sense on \" The Summer Knows\" I am not the percussion guy. If anything becomes available please let us know.

Nick, Are you Nick, the percussion guy? The cassette was the same as the video, except it included an extra tune: Chick Corea\'s Crystal Silence, (sp). I was very happy with the flute on that, and I\'m not usually thrilled with my playing. The only other difference is: I made them put the first take of \"The Summer Knows\" on the cassette. WW

Wayne Wayne, It is great to see you checking in. At one time there were cassette tapes available \"Wayne Wayne and the Lido Jazz all Stars\". Is this available on CD or any media anywhere? \"The Summer Knows\" An excellent performance.

Minder, I would love to get this out there, but Myles owns the rights, and I have no idea how to reach him. Google shows nothing - he may be dead, or in prison, (just kidding). The video is about an hour long, with bebop, Latin, and fusion tunes. WW

If you can get the music to us we can promote it here for you.. I suggest getting it onto a site like reverbnation & make it available for digital distribution on iTunes.. there is obviously a market out there for it, you just have to put it in the right places.. Nev.

For the record: PBS didn\'t record this video. A guy named Myles Brashear took the money out of his pocket, maybe $20,000, to record a 60 minute video. He thought jazz was dying and wanted to do something about it. He then offered it to PBS, and they showed it nation - wide. Alex Taylor was a guest on this one song. The rest is the house band playing bop and fusion. My favorite thing on the video is \"Loma\", by guitarist Bob Moore, (another guest). I play flute and piccolo on this samba, and it\'s BURNING! The video was called: Jazz Stars of the Future, and is listed in the Library of Congress Jazz Videos, somewhere. I would provide the URL, but who gives a ----. WW

Wow Wayne Wayne! What an incredible blast from the past to see you and Alex again (even if it was a recording). I\'m glad to hear you are still giging. I miss all my old friends since I moved to the East Coast. I was back to the Quiet woman last month on a quick visit they still have entertainment most nights you should talk to Lynn your talent should not be wasted on casuals! What is Alex up to these days?

Hey Paul, and everyone - thanks for the kind words! Yeah, it took me forever to write out that solo! if I remember correctly, it\'s three different Bird solos I put together. Alex nailed it in 24 hours, I figured it would take six weeks! I\'m still plugging away in Southern California, but it\'s getting harder these days. I\'m mostly doing recording sessions and casuals, not much club work at all. I may have to get a real job one of these days! Wait - Naaaa! Bye the way, YouTube also has the video of \"The Summer of 42\", recorded the same day.

I talked to Wayne a couple days ago for about an hour or so and after discussing family and our favorite NBA teams (he was a Pistons fan like me when he was in Detroit but he\'s had his nose up the Lakers butts since he moved in \'80), and the fires raging all around his neighborhood and on and on, he told me about this 20 year old footage that turned up on YouTube of him and Alex blazing away. If you think what you see and hear is amazing get a load of this: Wayne had written out every single note of the solo and he handed the chart to Alex and the next day - THE NEXT DAY! - she walked into the club and performed what that video captured. That blows my mind. What a break that PBS was on hand to record it. I even have to give some props to YouTube for this. I don\'t imagine this would have ever been seen without it. I\'ll see if I can get Wayne to pop on by and say hello.
