| Nu Jazz CD Project |
13-03-2008 |
In addition to working on my CD i have been recording tracks for what i call a Nu Jazz/Funk Instrumental project titled O.M. (at this time i am not ready to reveal Cd title) 5 of the 7 tracks are near complete. The idea of doing a jazz album strung from my new found love for jazz/fusion, a style of music i was not really into. My Jazz Cd will be released right after i complete my CD which i still being worked. Both will be released in 2008 and some of the jazz tracks will be posted on my AL webpage. Please check out my website from complete details about my upcoming recordings. |

Hi All;
The sign in and password for Salutations are the same friends and still work.
When the site starts podcasting again remember, these are your tracks not mine and feel free to do with them as you wish.
If you elect to leave them up for future podcasting, cool and fine with me but in the same breath if you are not into podcasting anymore with AL then you should remove them as not to use up bandwidth, ok!
Thanks and if you need sign in info for Salutations you can go to www.docquinn.com and mail me. I will send it right out to you.
Thanks,
Doc

PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE by The International Library of Poetry and Noble House Publications with permission by Chanssonnier Entertainment
BAY AREA RECORDING ARTIST RECOGNIZED AS DISTINGUISHED 2006 POETRY AMBASSADOR FOR FLORIDA
Safety Harbor, FL – The phrase “ All-American Girl” rings true for Bay Area Recording Artist & Performer, DAWNMARIE whose legal name is Dawnmarie E. Swilley-Hatfield. DAWNMARIE is a long time resident of the Tampa Bay area. Originally from New York and currently resides in Safety Harbor, Florida. Those who know this young lady can confirm that she is muti-talented, well-rounded and truly motivated in her efforts with community service. From overseas performances entertaining our troops, to recording and writing her own music, to stage performing, modeling, working in the law field and as a licensed Realtor with Keller Williams Realty in Palm Harbor, she has still found time to contribute her writings as a poet, resulting in May 2006 Publications in Noble House Publications in the United Kingdom and May 2006 Publications with the International Library of Poetry. Her commitments in sharing her writings were acknowledged by the International Library of Poetry in late May of 2006 and DAWNMARIE received the Award for the Distinguished 2006 Poetry Ambassador for Florida.

New Recording Artist brings life to USO
By KATHERINE ROTH
Associated Press Writer
NEW YORK (AP) -- While most of the world knows Dawnmarie as well as their own front door, military service-men and women have had the opportunity to witness this young lady shine since the age of 5. Now 32, Dawnmarie has brought military performances that were made well-known to non-military civilians by celebrity Bob Hope, back to life. For years military entertainment has been provided by commissioned and non-commissioned performers gathered from all over the glode that were willing to volunteer their time by providing the best entertainment shows to our military while they served overseas during times of war and temporary assignments. Entertainment for our troops was a way to keep them up to date with what was going on at home; to help overcome tads of home-sickness and to show support and encouragement for the sacrifices they have made to serve our country. Over the last few years the interest for these shows has decreased and the USO organization and the Department of Defense have been trying to find ways to built it back up to the stature that it held in the days of Bob Hope. Now, at last, with this young lady's assistance they believe they can do that. In 1992 Dawnmarie was the highlighted performer for Desert Storm, however when she returned to the states she disappeared from the military spotlight due to the emotional impact it left. It wasn't until 1995 when she began courting a Corporal of the U.S. Marine Corps stationed at Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, Combat Training Center, that she realized performing for the military was in her blood as serving our country was to our servicemen and women. Her discovery was brought to life in two songs written and dedicated to her Marine-friend and in turn dedicated to all servicemen and women and has been performed and acknowledged through her performances at over 50 military functions, including 7 Anniversary Balls for the U.S. Marine Corps; U.S. Navy, and U.S. Army. In 1999, Dawnmarie signed with Tamara Records in Nashville and released two songs, " All the Tea In China" and "Drowning in the Wishing Well". As a new artist the songs were very marketable, however the funding for distribution and mailing ran out and it became costly to continue pushing the songs. In 2000 a private investor stepped in to assist in the cost, and after the song was aired on smaller stations it sort of died out due to radio controlled program managers and their requirements to play the top 40 hits on the billboard charts. But this didn't discourage this talented young lady. She was introduced and sponsored into the MP3 internet sector where thousands of independent and signed artists are listed worldwide and her song " All the Tea in China" went to #7 on the charts within the first three months out of 70,000 women in music on the internet. One year later she had over 5,000 hits to her page and has sold over 2,000 albums. All of which were manufactured and distributed through MP3 at no extra cost to the artist. With a new release, "Take My Hand" as of March this year, Dawnmarie's CD sales are rising and although still no major label is supporting her, she says proudly that she enjoys the flexibility of having her own label and having the full control of her music in all aspects. You can also catch her music on Artistlaunch.com. With a two year law school degree under her belt, Dawnmarie feels confident that her law background has only helped her move up the ropes to where she is now. She had a bit of a rough year in 2002 where some health problems caused 20 shows in her local area to be cancelled for 6 weeks, but upon her recovery, she jumped right back on the stage and gave the city of St. Petersburg, Florida a taste of something they have never had. September 11, 2001 made an impact on everyone of us as people and as a nation. Military performances for USO are mostly geared for overseas servicemen and women, but with the anniversary of September 11th upon us and an idea, Dawnmarie, along with Military Officers, local firefighters and police officers who volunteered their time and a few local entertainer-friends, put together a one-hour mock USO show that brought customers at the Bilmar Beach Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida on September 7, 2003 to tears. She had truly touched everyone. "It is a really great feeling to be able to touch people in a place that is very sacred and private. It has always meant the most to me to be able to do something that was meaningful while making a difference in a positive way, without doing the wrong things to make it possible," she said, as she met with West Point officials in New York on Friday, September 20, 2003. "Serving our country as these fine men and women do, means making alot of sacrifices in their lives and putting aside their wants for protecting all of us that do not serve. This is my way of giving back, especially now when our shields have had to be raised and we wait daily to be protected from another terrorist attack as we saw on September 11th." As a native New Yorker and military dependant, Dawnmarie resides in Florida where she receives plenty of support for her military work and musical career. While she has not reached celebrity status in the public TV and Radio eyes, she has become a very important figure to the Department of Defense Entertainment Offices and although she does not feel she is like a celebrity in their eyes, she is proud to know she has made an impact in their hearts. This beautiful young lady comes from a family of very well-known entertainers including Metropolitan Opera's very own Mary-Theresa Mancini and composer, Henry Mancini, so we believe her time is not too far away. 2004 marks the 202th BiCentennial for West Point Military Academy/United States Army and the 226th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps. Dawnmarie will be making appearances at both celebrations as an honorary guest performer in the upcoming year and is very excited. It is a great come-back for the Armed Force's Entertainment Division and as Vice Commander Holenberg stated in his final comments, " It is with great pleasure for us to have had Dawnmarie on our side all these years and we are so excited that she has continued to assist our department to strive at what it is best known for.."great entertainment from the heart"...something she truly has... and as her career plummets, I can guarantee that the United States Marine Corps and United States Army will be right by her side." ---On the Net: Dawnmarie: http://www.mp3.com/dawnmarie, or http://www.artistlaunch.com/dawnmarie Courtesy of the William Morris Agency, New York and Chanssonnier Entertainment.

I am proud to announce that I'm a nominee in this year's Madison Area Music Award (MAMAs) for BEST INSTRUMENTALIST! The next round of voting will begin any minute now and go until early May...your support would be very much appreciated.
Also nominated is my manager/duo partner/cowriter and pal Randy Green - nominated for BEST RECORDING STUDIO. And, one of Randy's songs, "Home Movies, recorded this year by Robert J, is nominated under BEST FOLK-AMERICANA SONG.
Voting is open to the public...it costs $5 to vote (done online) but the proceeds of this program benefit school music programs. In particular, the money raised helps to purchase instruments for school children and for after-school programs such as those run by the Boys and Girls Club. See these links to participate:
Broadjam (where you sign up to vote)
MAMAs site
NOTE: When you vote on the Broadjam site you'll have the chance to click and listen to music so please take time to sample the Madison music scene! In addition to raising money for school music programs, that's what this is all about. It's easy to get swept up in the competition and all that, but the bottom line is that this is a chance for musicians and listeners to really get to know our local music scene. There are many wonderful musicians nominated in many categories, several that I have had the pleasure to work with, including the Mud Angels (blues song), Laura England (female vocalist), Ben Johnston-Urey (classical song, classical album), Robert J (a number of nominations), Subvocal (unique song, unique artist), Christine Costanzo (folk/Americana artist), Tret Fure (folk/Americana album)...and many others, so please use this opportunity to check them out, and vote for what you like best! |
