Before 2006 I thought there was not a guitarist out there who could do anything other than what every guitarist had done before. Then I heard Phil Brown and after I had heard him play a few times it actually made me stop playing lead guitar... no joke! (Neville Meredith, Guitarist for Dead Revolver)

Phil Brown - The Jimi Project

'From Vintage Guitar Magazine' Phil Brown is a music industry veteran who made his own breaks by brilliantly reinventing the music of the most influential guitarist in the history of rock and roll. The Jimi Project adds to this legacy, rather than merely spitting out copped licks and sounds The 55-year-old Brown has turned the Hendrix songbook into a vehicle for his playing and singing, which is refreshing considering that most Hendrix tributes are content to tip their caps to the original tunes.

Damn it Phil!! Why must you be so good?? Love your \"Good to be Back\". Geez I\'m already practicing while watching TV . Then you have to be a great writer and producer as well. Give us poor hacks a break will ya.
Hey man I love the Mollenhauer and the Lollars. I\'m fired up. Hope today finds you well cuz you\'re tapped into something otherworldly and I\'m looking for that vein. regards Whitey

For a long time I have been of the opinion that songs heard through the Web (in part by the quality of sound played through a computer) has been more kind to the voices of female than male artists. That is changing, however, and Phil\'s work is a perfect example. His guitar playing is outstanding, as others have attested. It never drowns out his voice or the lyrics in the songs he plays. It is that combination of skills that makes his work so noteworthy!

Myself and others are always banging on about Phil\'s guitar playing but God I\'d give my right hand to have his voice... outstanding.. (nev)

I am a keyboard player that has played with the likes of Tommy Bolin, Joe Walsh, Eric Clapton, Albert King, BB King, Albert Collins, and a shot load more, but now I\'m proud and amazed to be working with \"THE MAN\", my brothr Phil Brown. He comes from a place that only artists like Mozart share the womb of the mother of music genius. He will not only make me a better player, but a better person for having the honor to play with, but also call my friend. FYI, get hip & start checking this man out ! Tommy Stephenson

In my previous life as manager of the old AL, I had the great pleasure of sponsoring 2 appearances by Phil in the Detroit area. On the minus side, for a number of reasons we weren\'t able to put as many bodies in the chairs as I would\'ve liked. Those two clubs should\'ve been packed given the amazing music Phil and his cohorts produced. On the plus side, Blue Bang Theory, my band, opened for him both times and what an honor it was to do that and then to be in the audience afterwards to see his great shows. His 2nd time here I even got to join him on stage singing background on a couple of his awesome Hendrix reimaginings. Way cool. Phil is a great friend. We talk frequently and it\'s always a blast to hear from him. Not nearly enough people know it but sooner or later I believe they will: Phil Brown is one of the most talented musicians on the planet.
